The Walter J. Mahoney Library is one of our main research
collaboration hubs.
Stepinac emphasizes the development of students’ skills in
research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and
presenting. We have numerous research databases available: EBSCO, ProQuest, Encyclopedia
Britannica, and OpenEd. They include scholarly journals, newspapers, reports,
working papers, dissertations, datasets, digitized historical primary sources,
and ebooks.
The library also includes nearly 7,000 cataloged items
including books, magazines, videos, books-on-tape, and a professional
collection. There are over 25 current magazine and newspaper subscriptions.
Back-issues of over 1,000 different magazines and newspapers are available
electronically. There is also an archive
of school yearbooks and recorded theatrical performances.
Depending on the discipline, Stepinac uses all of the
following citation guidelines: Chicago Style, APA (American Psychological
Association), and MLA (Modern Language Association).
Stepinac is the only private school in the tri-state area to
offer the AP CAPSTONE DIPLOMA Program. This is a research program endorsed by
all university academicians. Participation gives student an additional
distinction on their Stepinac diploma.
